Pastor Maldonado will take a 10-place drop on next weekend's Italian Grand Prix grid after the stewards at Spa handed him two five-place penalties for separate incidents in his short-lived Belgian Grand Prix appearance.
The controversial Venezuelan was already in hot water for clearly jumping the lights at the start of Sunday's race before he then collided with the Marussia of Timo Glock following the lap-four restart, which broke the nose on his Williams and forced him to retire from the race.
Having promptly put both incidents under investigation, the stewards later took a dim view of both, punishing Maldonado with one five-place grid penalty in lieu of a drive-through for the jump start and meting out same penalty for the collision with Glock.
The combined penalty means Maldonado, who had already gone into the race on the back of a three-place grid penalty for blocking Nico Hulkenberg in Q1 on Saturday, will start no higher than 11th for this coming Sunday's Italian GP.
Since claiming his breakthrough F1 victory at Barcelona in May, Maldonado has become a magnet for the stewards' office with the Williams driver now having picked up a total of seven separate penalties since Monaco.
