Georgie briefs us on preparations for the first edition of the F1 Show, admits to some pre-match nerves, and has a relieved scout around for any wasps...

Since we touched down in Australia on Tuesday morning, we've been fairly full on gearing up for our debut race weekend here in Melbourne. I'm not going to lie, hard graft has been occasionally interspersed with the odd pre-breakfast run on the beach and team-bonding exercise (such as finding a table for 60-odd in a nice restaurant!), but in the main everyone has been squirreling around Albert Park getting everything we need to make a serious impact from when we go live on Friday morning. Again, I'm not going to lie, adrenalin is coursing through my veins and so too is a decent dose of pre-match nerves. Live television has a way of doing that to you. It's a feeling that's hard to come by. I was chatting about it the other day to Martin who said it's not dissimilar to the sensation that a driver experiences when the lights go out at the start of a race and it's go, go, go. I rather like the idea that the next best thing for MB to actually driving in F1 is talking about it, live, which is what we are all about to do - and a lot of it! In a matter of hours, Ted and I will present our first F1 Show together live from Melbourne. To give you a bit of background, the last time Ted and I worked together we were at Knebworth hosting The Red Bull Soap Box Race. That was around eight years ago when a Red Bull Formula 1 team was but a twinkle in the eye of owner Dietrich Mateschitz. My goodness me, what vision he has. Anyway...I got stung by a wasp doing my opening link (I've been allergic since I sat on a nest of the nasty things aged five) and as a result nearly passed out with shock. The good news is I have been on the look out and can report there are no signs of wasps in or around Albert Park. Phew. And fortunately there are a smattering of A-List guests to chat to for show one instead. I'll be stationed on a purpose-built bridge overlooking the paddock area and hoping to be joined by the likes of Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner (obviously I won't be mentioning the Soap Box Race to him) and the main man at McLaren, Martin Whitmarsh. SuperTed (as I've taken to calling my co-presenter) will be in and amongst it in the pits, getting great access to the teams and drivers and bringing us the very latest news ahead of qualifying. F1 has never been put under the TV spotlight on a Friday night before so you should expect to see some fascinating features for the first time. Oh, and to let you in on a little secret, Nat will be introducing Ted to his significantly more musically gifted cousin... I'll let you join up the dots whilst I apply the insect repellent! See you tomorrow morning, GTx The first edition of the F1 Show will be broadcast live at 9.30am, UK Time, on Friday morning on Sky Sports F1 HD.
