Nico Rosberg is back in Monaco for F1's showpiece event, and the current world champion explains why Lewis Hamilton has greater backing this season.

The German, who retired at the end of last season, was locked in a mammoth duel with Hamilton at Mercedes for four years, eventually getting the better of his rival in an enthralling final race of 2016 to clinch his first title.

It now looks like Hamilton has another battle on his hands, with Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel currently six points ahead of the Briton ahead of this weekend's Monaco GP.

But Rosberg believes that his former team-mate should have more help this time around, as he now has the full backing of the Silver Arrows rather than half a team.
