Our dedicated channel will be providing live and uninterrupted coverage from Montreal with a Villeneuve theme very much to the fore...
Full coverage of the Canadian Grand Prix only on Sky Sports
Sky Sports F1 will be providing exclusively live coverage of the F1 Canadian Grand Prix this weekend - with the race's scheduled 19.00pm BST start-time providing the perfect excuse for a Sunday night in front of the tele. F1's foray across the Atlantic into a North American time zone means that, as far as British-based F1 fans are concerned, this week's main events - qualifying and the all-important race in Montreal - will be early-evening affairs. So there's no excuses for not cutting the grass this weekend... Just don't forget that, after the change in the norm at Monaco, both of this week's Practice Sessions will revert back to their usual host day of Friday, with our Practice One show beginning at 14.45pm. Our coverage from the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will also be something of a family affair with 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve joining the Sky Sports F1 punditry team for an event run on a track named in honour of his father, Gilles. If you haven't already met Jacques in his new guise on the other side of the pitwall, rest assured that it's reasonable to expect plenty of incisive and eloquent insights. Staying on the Villeneuve theme, this weekend's coverage will also include recordings of interviews with Gilles, never broadcast before on television, made by the journalist Nigel Roebuck in which the Ferrari legend discusses his career. We're reliably informed that they make for riveting listening. Meanwhile, Jenson Button will be providing the track guide for the circuit that he conquered last June despite, at one stage, running at the back of the field, and we'll be retrospectively joining Mark Webber at the Isle of Man TT. And in something different entirely, we'll be accompanying Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne on a visit to Cirque du Soleil's Montreal base to watch the Toro Rosso team-mates experience an acrobatic training session with one of Canada's most famous exports. But above all else, we'll have full coverage of the next instalment of 2012's record-breaking season - a season which, lest we forget, has already seen six different winners in its opening six races - with Sky Sports F1 broadcasting each session from Montreal in its entirety, building up to live and uninterrupted coverage of Saturday's night qualifying hour, with our Qualy show starting at 17.00pm, and then Round Seven of this year's Championship, with our race show of the 2012 Canadian Grand Prix going to air at 17.30pm on Sunday evening.
