With the countdown to Belgium ticking down to less than two weeks, we've a brand new edition of The F1 Show coming up...
The long wait for Formula 1's return to action may be still ongoing, but the Belgium GP is now less than two weeks away and we'll be broadcasting a brand new edition of The F1 Show this Friday night to help you through August's F1 barren wilderness. Naturally, the programme - to be presented by Georgie Thompson and, because Ted Kravitz is taking a well-earned holiday, David Croft - will be all geared up for the imminent return of live F1 to our television screens when the sport reconvenes at Spa, but the F1 Show team will also reporting on the various occurrences in the F1 world during the mid-season break. For leading example, we'll be explaining how and why Jenson Button has been keeping himself in shape for the season's resumption by hosting and tackling a charity triathlon around the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire borders. For that event, power and pace is the priority, but over in New York it was a Red Bull that took centre stage at the start of the month as David Coulthard put one of the World Champions' chargers through its paces around Liberty State Park - and yup, you guessed it, we were in attendance to bring you the best of the dramatic footage. The F1 Show team certainly haven't been resting on their laurels during the break or indeed catching up with the comforts of home because, in addition to travelling to Venezuela to follow Pastor Maldonado's homecoming and find out how the Williams driver has enjoyed the first half of the season, the ever-active Natalie Pinkham met up with some Red Bull interns to discuss what is surely the ultimate summer job. Meanwhile, those 24 drivers who enjoy the ultimate job in motor-sport will also soon be back at work. Just what might await us in Belgium? And who are studio guests Anthony Davidson and Johnny Herbert, plus Crofty and Georgie, tipping for success when the season starts off again in Spa? You'll just have to tune into Friday's show to find out... The F1 Show goes live to air at 8pm on Friday night...
