F1 Singapore night race

Email us your comments in response to the confirmation that Formula One will stage its first night race next season.

The FIA confirmed on Wednesday that Singapore will host Formula One's first 'night race' next September. Opinions have already been divided on the event, with commercial rights controller Bernie Ecclestone - perhaps predictably - coming out in favour, whilst two-times world champion Fernando Alonso has questioned the safety of staging a night race. What do you think? Will a night race add to the spectacle of Formula One? Or perhaps you think it's simply a gimmick that will help boost television audiences and deflect from the possibility of a lack of on-track action? Also, in this eco-conscious age, is the conspicuous use of floodlighting around a 5.067-km track really something that should be warranted? Or perhaps, contrary to the message Honda have been conveying this season, you don't think F1 is an arena which should concern itself with such issues? Fill in the form at the bottom and let us know...
