Send us your views on Fernando Alonso's decision to return to Renault.
Renault have announced that, after one season away, Fernando Alonso will return to drive for them next season. On the surface, the move seems to make sense: the Spaniard made his name with the team, racing for them between 2003 and 2006 - Alonso's last two seasons yielding back-to-back world championships. However, the season they spent apart arguably saw both parties fall from the previous lofty heights at which they had found themselves: Alonso's move to McLaren proving a fraught affair given the emergence of Lewis Hamilton, with Renault failing to win a race for the first time since 2002. But now Alonso and Renault are reunited and the news does beg the obvious question: do they bring out the best in each other? Despite his travails in 2007, Alonso still won four grands prix and finished third in the drivers' championship...can he challenge in a Renault next season? Or, given the fact that no mention has been made of the new deal lasting beyond 2008, do you think that Alonso has full confidence in the Regie's renewed ability to mount a championship challenge? Perhaps you think that he is simply marking time ahead of another move - perhaps to Ferrari - in 2009? Fill in the box at the bottom of the page and let us know...
