Write in with your thoughts on the 2008 Formula One season, which starts in Australia next weekend.
The start of the 2008 Formula One season is almost upon us, with teams and fans alike counting down the days until the Australian Grand Prix on March 16th. Only then, in the surroundings of Melbourne's Albert Park, will F1 followers finally get the chance to work out who is setting the pace at the outset of a season which will take in 18 races spread across four continents. Those in the know have predicted that Ferrari and McLaren-Mercedes will once again be competing for the top step of the podium, with world champion Kimi Raikkonen looking to secure back-to-back titles. Of course, the Finn pipped Britain's Lewis Hamilton to the title last year - the McLaren youngster, incredibly, leading the title race for most of his rookie season before ultimately falling short. Raikkonen is once again partnered by Felipe Massa, while Hamilton has a new team-mate in Heikki Kovalainen - a fellow 2007 rookie who improved considerably at Renault last season. Of course, Kovalainen's arrival at the Woking team came after double world champion Fernando Alonso moved back to Renault following a solitary season at McLaren which saw him fall out with both Hamilton and senior team management. But enough about that. This is YOUR VIEW and Skysports.com wants to hear your thoughts on the 2008 F1 Season. Can Kimi do it again? Or will Lewis go one better? Perhaps you think Heikki will give Hamilton a real fright? With talk already focused on the likelihood of Ferrari and McLaren resuming battle, it's worth pointing out that there are in fact nine other teams on the grid, all with their own targets for the upcoming season. Of these, BMW Sauber and Williams appear best placed to make inroads, with Red Bull and perhaps Toyota seemingly also capable of picking up points regularly. But what about a race victory? Then, of course, there's Alonso and Renault - a team who went backwards last year. The Spaniard is already ruling out victories in 2008, but perhaps the renewal of a partnership which brought successive titles in 2005/06 could galvanise them both? Write in and let us know...
