Japanese manufacturer insists grand prix will take place at its track

Toyota has denied reports that it is set to withdraw its Fuji Speedway circuit from the 2010 Formula One calendar. The Fuji circuit, which played host to the 2007 and 2008 Japanese grands prix, is set to host next year's race as part of a race-sharing deal with the Honda-owned Suzuka track. However, reports in Japan have claimed that the Japanese manufacturer wants to pull out of the agreement as part of an attempt to cut costs. "As the entire (Toyota) company attempts to cut costs, employees have increasingly voiced the view that the cost of hosting Formula One should also be reviewed," reported Asahi Shimbun. However, Toyota have denied the reports, saying they have no intention of withdrawing Fuji from the calendar. "At Fuji Speedway, we are making preparations to host F1 next year," a Toyota spokesman said. "There is no truth to the report that we were considering withdrawing from hosting it."
