Young Frenchman joins the Scuderia's roster of drivers
French youngster Jules Bianchi has signed a long-term contract with Ferrari.
The 20-year-old's immediate role at the Scuderia is unknown, with the team only confirming that he has signed a "multi-year contract" to form "part of the group of Ferrari drivers".
Besides race drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, Ferrari also have Giancarlo Fisichella, Luca Badoer and Marc Gene on their roster.
"This is the first step on a journey that could turn out very nicely, but I'm equally aware that there is still a long way to go to get to Formula One," said Bianchi, who made his debut for the Italian team on Tuesday during testing in Jerez.
It has been reported that the Frenchman, who won the 2009 F3 Euroseries, will spend the 2010 season in GP2 partnering Briton Sam Bird at the ART team.
