Mark Webber refuses to be drawn into talk of Red Bull winning their maiden Formula One title this year, despite the Australian's belief that the team have a highly competitive car.
Webber has joined a chorus of voices insisting that the 2010 season will be too close to call from the outset and as a result the 33-year-old, who claimed is maiden race win in 2009, is first and foremost looking to add to his tally of victories.
"Don't expect me to say I'll win the title this year, that would be suicidal," Webber told
Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I aim to win more grands prix than I did last year. Let's say we have a great opportunity to do something special.
"Anyway, it's early to say. It will be a very close championship to the end, and it will be very spectacular, I guarantee," he added.
The RB6 was competitive during last month's testing in Barcelona, and Webber reveals there are certainly reasons to be excited about the car.
"With limited fuel on board it's super quick," he explained.
"The tyres have gone a step backwards for lack of competition, the lap times have increased, but the aerodynamics are amazing."
