Red Bull driver pips Hamilton at Sepang

Red Bull's Mark Webber set the pace in final practice ahead of qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix. The Australian, who suffered an engine failure on Friday, lapped the 3.444-mile Sepang circuit in a time of one minute 33.542 seconds with just three minutes remaining to outpace Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton had dominated both practice sessions on Friday and looked on course to once again set the pace as he climbed to the top after 25 minutes. No-one was able to better the McLaren driver's 1:33.559secs effort on soft tyres before Webber finally managed to pip him by just 0.017s. Webber's team-mate Sebastian Vettel was third while championship leader Fernando Alonso was fourth for Ferrari. Michael Schumacher was fifth as he edged Mercedes GP team-mate Nico Rosberg for the first time this weekend. Hamilton's team-mate, reigning world champion Jenson Button, was seventh with Ferrari's Felipe Massa, Rubens Barrichello of Williams and Renault's Robert Kubica completing the top 10. At the other end of the timesheet, Virgin Racing's Timo Glock was fastest of the new teams with 19th, as team-mate Lucas di Grassi went 22nd quickest. The Lotus duo of Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen separated the two. HRT once again propped up the order with Bruno Senna 23rd and Karun Chandhok 24th. Expected rain showers missed the circuit, although a heavy downpour has been forecast for qualifying later on Saturday.
