Former world champion joins forces with Durango
Jacques Villeneuve could be set for a return to Formula One, should Durango's bid for the 13th spot on the 2011 grid be accepted.
It was recently reported that the 1997 world champion is planning to come back to the sport in collaboration with the Italian outfit, which could be renamed Villeneuve Racing.
Despite dropping out of feeder series GP2 due to financial problems, Durango has reportedly passed primary FIA checks aimed at establishing if they are capable of fielding an entry.
After earlier submitting an entry, team owner Ivone Pinton confirmed that Villeneuve will be involved in the project as a driver in addition to the business partnership.
"I really hope together we will find a place," he told

"We still don't know where the car would be built, but the team's base will definitely be ours, in the Veneto.
"As well as being the driver, I'm sure he will make a useful contribution to the company. I think he's preparing a job to do after he hangs up his helmet."
