The Indian Grand Prix remains on course to make its debut after its latest track inspection.
The race is scheduled to take place in eight weeks' time on October 28-30, and has yet to receive its safety certificate due to ongoing work at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida on the outskirts of New Delhi.
However, the organisers appear poised to deliver according to Vicky Chandhok, father of Lotus reserve driver Karun, and president of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India.
After escorting FIA safety delegate Charlie Whiting on his visit, Chandhok said in a statement: "He stated the progress was more than satisfactory and exceeded expectations from when he last visited the site.
"He also expressed confidence the inaugural Indian Grand Prix will be a huge success."
Whiting is due to return next month to certify the circuit, likely to be just over a week prior to an event for which organisers have already had a strong response with regard to ticket sales.
A full-house crowd of 120,000 is currently being expected for the maiden race in India.
