Bees hang on for vital point

Image: Cole: Superb saves

Rotherham had to settle for a point in a 0-0 draw with Barnet - which bolstered the visitors' fight against relegation.

Rotherham totally dominated the first 45 minutes, but a host of good chances went begging before they went down to 10 men after the break. The home side were quick out of the traps and the visitors had two men booked inside the first seven minutes, but the first real chance fell to the visitors when Mark Hughes' header from Mark Marshall's corner was easily saved. But it was goalkeeper Jake Cole who kept Barnet in the hunt saving from Ryan Taylor, Tom Newey and Liam Henderson. Rotherham failed to keep up the pressure after the break and their cause wasn't helped when Tom Newey was inexplicably sent off by referee Geoff Eltringham. Izale McLeod was booked for holding on to the ball when Rotherham were awarded a free kick, but Eltringham then sent Newey off for a push as he attempted to retrieve the ball.
