Stephen Rochford confirmed as Donegal selector

Former Mayo manager Stephen Rochford has joined Declan Bonner's Donegal backroom team.
The former Corofin boss resigned after three years in charge of the Connacht county, having led them to back-to-back All-Ireland finals in 2016 and 2017, losing to Dublin by a single point on each occasion. James Horan has since returned to the side.
On Friday afternoon, Donegal GAA confirmed that Rochford will be joining up with Bonner and Co in Tír Chonaill. The Ulster champions needed to rebuild their backroom team following departures which included Karl Lacey.
The County Board confirmed the news in a statement which read: "CLG Dún na nGall wish to announce that following our successful year of 2018 that the following Coaching and Mentoring personnel of Karl Lacey, Anthony McGrath, and John Mc Elhome shall leave the Senior Football backroom team. We thank them for their committed dedication to the development of our County squad.
"We further announce that Stephen Rochford and Aaron Kyles shall join Declan Bonner's coaching staff for 2019, we welcome both, and look forward to their involvement."
This comes as a major boost to Donegal football, as they aim to build upon what was a promising 2018 championship. Bonner's young side are looking to push on from their provincial title and mix it with the big guns should they reach the Super 8s once again. Rochford's experience at the top level will undoubtedly prove an asset to the side.
