First-round qualifier draw: Monaghan to face Fermanagh
Monday 27 May 2019 16:51, UK
The first-round qualifier draw of the 2019 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship has taken place, with Monaghan v Fermanagh arguably the pick of the ties.
The Farney County, who were shocked by Cavan in last week's Ulster quarter-final, will face another provincial neighbour in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Tipperary, who were shocked by Limerick in Munster, take on Down.
Longford and Kildare drew on Sunday. The loser of next weekend's replay will go into the first round of the qualifiers.
The fixture details (dates/times/venues) will be confirmed by the CCCC on Tuesday afternoon along with the fixtures scheduled for the weekend of June 8/9. All matches in this round will be 'winner on the day', if required.
The first team drawn in each tie will be given home advantage, except if a Division 3 or 4 team from the 2019 Allianz League is drawn against a Division 1 or 2 team, in which case the lower-ranked team will have home advantage.
The second-round draw will then be made on Monday, June 10. This will feature the eight winners from round one, and the eight sides that lose provincial semi-finals. Mayo and Sligo are already confirmed to be in that draw.
Sky Sports' live GAA coverage continues on Saturday, June 8 as Cork host Waterford in the Munster Hurling Championship.
