The great and the good of golf get together to pay tribute to Ivor Robson after more than 40 years as the European Tour's official starter

As Ivor Robson called time on 41 year involvement with the European Tour at last week’s DP World Tour Championship, a number of the leading players, including European No 1 Rory McIlroy, were keen to pay tribute to his lengthy service.

Robson retired after the season-ending finale, meaning his high-pitched voice will no longer be heard calling out players' names as they begin their rounds.

The distinctive words 'on the tee' have been connected to Robson throughout his career as the Official Starter, with a number of the players intent on having a go at trying to replicate the veteran's dulcet tones.
