Wells Fargo Championship new venue: Guide to Eagle Point Golf Club
Thursday 4 May 2017 23:55, UK
There's a new course on the PGA Tour this week as the Wells Fargo Championship switches its venue.
The tournament has been held at Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina ever since the event first appeared in the schedules in 2003, but has been moved due to the usual course being prepared for this year's PGA Championship.
Instead the event heads over 200 miles east to Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, a privately-owned course which has former major winner Webb Simpson among its members.
The Tom Fazio designed layout has been described as showing similarities to Augusta National by a number of the players in this week's field, impressed with their first visit to the course.
