Kevin Na produced the shot of the day at the CIMB Classic by holing out from the fairway for an unlikely eagle

Kevin Na produced a moment of brilliance to get within two strokes of the early lead at the CIMB Classic.

The American fired a six-under 66 at TPC Kuala Lumpur to lie in a share of fifth spot, two adrift of early pacesetter Cameron Smith, with one shot in particular standing out from his opening round.

Na birdied four of his first seven holes to reach the turn in 32 before cancelling out a blemish at the 13th with back-to-back gains over his next two holes.

Better was to come at the par-four next, where Na found the middle of the fairway off the tee and with the perfect angle in to the green.

Na struck a perfect pitching wedge to within 15 feet of the flag, before watching it take a couple of short hops and roll in to the cup for a timely eagle.
