The golfing world has been saluting fitness pioneer and nine-time major champion Gary Player on his 82nd birthday
Rory McIlroy and Martin Kaymer were among the golfers to pay tribute to Gary Player by taking part in a special challenge to mark the nine-time major champion’s 82nd birthday.
Player is well known for his remarkable fitness and health for a man of his age, with his birthday being an opportunity for people to pay tribute to the South African in his favourite pastime.
Last year's birthday saw players and fans asked to 81 sit-ups, while this year's task honoured Player by requesting people to plank for 82 seconds in the #Plank4Player Challenge.

Sky Sports duo Nick Dougherty and Andrew Coltart completed the task during the live preview show ahead of the Turkish Airlines Open, while Rory McIlroy was one of the players to turn to social media to take part.
To take part in the challenge and wish Player a happy birthday, post a picture of yourself in the plank position on either Twitter or Instagram and use the hashtag #Plank4Player.
Here's a few of the other players to have already participated…
