English duo Charley Hull and Jodi Ewart Shadoff sit five shots off the pace at the halfway stage of the ANA Inspiration, the first women's major of the season.
Hull birdied her final two holes to post a four-under 68 at Mission Hills Country Club and join Ewart Shadoff - last year's Women's British Open runner-up - on seven under and tied-fourth.
South Korea's Sung Hyun Park fired a round-of-the-day 64 to set the clubhouse lead in California, with overnight leader Pernilla Lindberg signing for a blemish-free 67 to also get to 12 under.
"I just was so focused on my game today," Park told reporters. "Today the shots were awesome. I just felt really good about my driver."
Beginning the day three off the pace, Park recovered from an opening-hole bogey to pick up shots over her next two holes and follow a gain at the seventh with a hat-trick of birdies around the turn.
Park rolled in a birdie at the 13th and holed out from the 15th fairway for eagle to go eight under for the day, as Lindberg carded five birdies to get back into a share of the advantage.
Jessica Korda is three strokes off the pace in third after a four-under 68, with American Lexi Thompson eight back after three birdies in the last four holes salvaged a round of 72.
