Prince of Wales to attend second official practice day

It has been confirmed that the Prince of Wales will visit Celtic Manor on the second day of official practice for the Ryder Cup. During his trip to the venue in Newport on September 29, Prince Charles will meet European and US captains Colin Montgomerie and Corey Pavin. Ryder Cup director Richard Hills said: "We are truly honoured. "Having the contest staged in Wales for the first time is a huge honour for the country as a whole and we are delighted that His Royal Highness is able to join us and share in the celebrations." Prince Charles will also be attending an official Ryder Cup Dinner at Cardiff Castle, where Montgomerie and Pavin will introduce him to the two teams. He will then attend the Welcome to Wales celebration concert at the Millennium Stadium, where Dame Shirley Bassey, Katherine Jenkins and Catherine Zeta Jones are amongst the acts performing.
