Sergio Garcia is back in action after a gap of two months to compete on his home course.
European Tour stats package
The 30-year-old Spaniard was born in the town of Castellon which hosts this week's Castello Masters.
Designed by Ramon Espinosa and opened in 1978, the Costa Azahar layout is hosting the event for a third straight year.
Water hazards come into play on five holes of this tree-lined course which has a slightly undulating back nine.
As for Garcia, who is now ranked outside the world's top sixty, his two previous appearances yielded a victory in 2008 and another top-six finish 12 months ago.
So who else is worth keeping an eye on this week?
Jamie Donaldson: Sparkles from time-to-time and in a mediocre field such as this Donaldson may get the chance to shine once again. The Welshman finished in a tie-for-third at Gleneagles eight weeks ago.
Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano: Back on home soil after finishing joint runner-up on Sunday in Vilamoura where he carded four sub-70 rounds.
Soren Hansen: Has not enjoyed the best of seasons but can't be ruled out this week. His only visit to Castellon produced a top-six finish last year.
Sam Hutsby: One of the Tour's up-and-coming players. This week's event will provide Hutsby with one of his better chances to grab a maiden Tour win. The young Englishman tied-for-eighth in this tournament last year.
Alexander Noren: The Swede has performed better in recent weeks and was third at Castellon in 2008.
Oliver Wilson: After nine runner-up finishes is still waiting for his maiden Tour title. The 30-year-old from Mansfield played well for 54 holes at Vilamoura last week before slipping down the leaderboard on Sunday.
