Justin Rose is six shots clear after the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines with a record tournament score and 13th PGA Tour title in his sights.
Rose notched four birdies on an impeccable front nine, including three in a row from the fifth, before mixing three more with three bogeys coming home to sign for a four-under 68 and reach 21 under for the event in San Diego.
The best winning score in the history of the Farmers Insurance Open is the 22 under achieved by Tiger Woods in 1999 and George Burns in 1987, so the 45-year-old will break that if he shoots two under or better on Sunday.

The largest margin of victory is the eight shots seven-time champion Woods beat Ryuji Imada by in 2008.
Rose could rise as high as fourth in the world with victory
Rose won this tournament with a score of 21 under back in 2019, finishing two strokes clear of Adam Scott.
It will now require a slump from him or something special from his opponents to deny him a second Torrey Pines title and a third PGA Tour victory in three years, after the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February 2023 and FedEx St. Jude Championship last August.
The Englishman, who could climb as high as fourth in the world rankings with victory on Sunday night, live on Sky Sports, said: "I've enjoyed playing the golf course this week. I want to continue to enjoy the week as a whole.
"It's another great round in good weather on an awesome golf course. There's never going to be any complacency.
"I think there's always enough respect for the game of golf in the back of your mind that you've got to do everything right [on Sunday]. You're going to come out, have to be focused, have to play well."
USA's Joel Dahmen is a distant second on 15 under after matching Rose's four-under Saturday, with Japan's Ryo Hisatsune and South Korea's Si Woo Kim in a tie for third place on 13 under, some eight shots off the leader.
The round of the day belonged to Germany's Stephan Jaeger, whose seven-under 65 propelled him 39 places up the leaderboard to joint sixth on 11 under, with Ireland's Seamus Power on the same total after four bogeys in his last seven holes.
Brooks Koepka - playing his first PGA Tour event since returning from LIV Golf - is tied 61st on two under, with his one-over third round featuring an extraordinary shot onto the first green from the cart path.
