American thrives in difficult conditions

Jeff Overton leads the Turning Stone Resort Championship by one shot after firing a second-round 69. Overton's three-under-par round took him to eight-under for the tournament, one clear of fellow American Tag Ridings (68). Heavy rain and hail resulted in two suspensions of play, the second round was eventually halted because of darkness and 23 players had to return on Saturday morning to finish off. Indiana native Overton, 25, was totally unfazed by the foul conditions, hitting all 18 greens in regulation. "It really reminded me of playing college golf at Indiana," he said. "I can remember playing at Ohio State a few years back and the golf tournament got snowed out. "I had quite a lot of experience in college golf playing in these kind of conditions. It's kind of fun and kind of feels like you're right back at home." Brian Davis moved into contention with a second round of 69. The Londoner is part of a four-man tie for seventh at four-under-par.
