The European Tour season for 2008 reaches its penultimate week with the first staging of the Castellon Masters-Costa Azahar.
European Tour stats package
The Mediterraneo Golf Club in Borriol - close to Valencia - will host a tournament that has attracted a better than normal field for this time of year.
The 30-year-old venue, designed by Ramon Espinosa, has undergone major refurbishment in recent years, most notably a new irrigation system.
And among those teeing-up on the Spanish coast are Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose and Angel Cabrera.
Although this week's result will not affect the top few positions in the European Order of Merit, the £2.5m prize fund will still be eagerly contested.
So who are the leading runners on the Spanish coast?
Sergio Garcia: Will be desperate to perform well on his home course and is the highest ranked player in the field.
Ignacio Garrido: Has performed well on home soil this season. Two of his three top-10 finishes in 2008 have been in Spain: He was runner-up in his own national Open and tied for 10th in Madrid two weeks ago.
Paul Lawrie: Played well at Vilamoura last weekend when he finished second - his best result since 2005.
Andres Romero: Has endured mixed fortunes since winning his maiden PGA Tour event in New Orleans during the spring. However, the young Argentinian is still inside the world's top 40 and is one of the biggest names taking part on the Costa Azahar.
Justin Rose: This time last year Rose was on the verge of becoming European No 1 at the age of 27. However, the Englishman has endured a disappointing season and has not won since landing the Volvo Masters at Valderrama last November.
Jeev Milkha Singh: India's highest-ranked player continues his rise up the golfing ladder. Was a winner in Austria and China earlier this year, and was fifth in the recent British Masters at The Belfry.
