Conor McGregor was two-and-a-half pounds lighter than Nate Diaz at a chaotic weigh-in on Friday night.
The Irish ace tipped the scales at 168lbs, two pounds beneath the welterweight limit, with Diaz coming in heavy at 170.5lbs ahead of UFC 202.
McGregor's weight was identical to his first fight with Diaz in March when, on 10 days' notice, he was beaten in a hastily-arranged welterweight fight.
On that occasion, McGregor had been scheduled to challenge for the 155lbs lightweight title but Rafael dos Anjos' injury resulted in the Irishman stepping up a division to meet Diaz instead.
On Friday, Las Vegas police were drafted in to keep the peace between the feuding fighters after bottles had been tossed at the pre-fight press conference.
UFC president Dana White had his work cut out to separate McGregor and Diaz who traded barbs before Saturday night's rematch.
