Kevin Garnett has returned to his first franchise after being traded to Minnesota Timberwolves.
The move was among the most profile on the busiest ever NBA Trade Deadline Day as 39 players switched teams including the Timberwolves acquiring the greatest player in their history for a second spell.
Thaddeus Young was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Garnett - but the 38-year-old legend's long-term future is still in question. He is tied to the Timberwolves for the remaining two months of the season before becoming a free agent when he would have to renew his deal.
Garnett spent the first 12 years of his career in Minnesota and is now charged with providing the experience to help them end a 10-year play-off drought.
Goran Dragic has been traded to Miami Heat in exchange for four Phoenix Suns players and two draft picks.
The Slovenian's brother Zoran is also moving from Phoenix to Miami but it is Goran, the point guard who could have left the Suns as a free agent in two months, whose move caused the biggest stir.
Isaiah Thomas also left the Suns after he was traded to Boston Celtics. The Suns completed their makeover with Brandon Knight from Milwaukee Bucks.
Enes Kanter and Reggie Jackson got their moves that they were seeking. Kanter left Utah Jazz for Oklahoma City Thunder, and Jackson left Thunder for Detroit Pistons.
They were traded in a three-team deal that also saw Brook Lopez join Thunder from Brooklyn Nets.
Michael Carter-Williams, last year's Rookie of the Year, joined Milwaukee Bucks from Philadelphia 76ers.
Portland Trail Blazers acquired Arron Afflalo and Alonzo Gee from Denver Nuggets in exchange for Thomas Robinson, Will Barton, Victor Claver and a protected 2016 first-round pick.
Afflalo has averaged 14.5 points per game this season and would have been a free agent in the summer so his move to Portland is somewhat of a coup.
KJ McDaniels joined Houston Rockets from Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Isaiah Canaan and a second-round draft pick. Pablo Prigioni has also moved to Houston.
Norris Cole was traded twice on Deadline Day, ending up at New Orleans Pelicans. He won two championships with Miami Heat but was originally sent to Phoenix Suns, who then swapped him for Pelicans' John Salmonds.
Veteran guards Ramon Sessions and Andre Miller swapped teams, joining Washington Wizards and Sacramento Kings, respectively.
