He received plenty of support from Stephen Curry, who scored 28 points and hit six three-pointers on a night when Cleveland struggled badly in all phases of their game.

The Cavaliers' own version of the big three - LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love - scored 67 of their points but they had little help off the bench and James had eight costly turnovers.

But their performance was not enough for Durant who said there is plenty more to come from the Warriors.

"We could be a lot better than we were tonight, but in the finals, you get the W, we'll take it," Durant said.

That sentiment was echoed by Curry, who added: "We feel like we can play much better, especially offensively, just finishing better around the rim.
