Kevin Durant starred as the Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-91 in game one of the NBA Finals.
Durant scored 38 points on 14-of-26 shooting and added eight rebounds and eight assists as the Warriors matched an NBA record by winning their 13th straight play-off game.
He received plenty of support from Stephen Curry, who scored 28 points and hit six three-pointers on a night when Cleveland struggled badly in all phases of their game.
The Cavaliers' own version of the big three - LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love - scored 67 of their points but they had little help off the bench and James had eight costly turnovers.
But their performance was not enough for Durant who said there is plenty more to come from the Warriors.
"We could be a lot better than we were tonight, but in the finals, you get the W, we'll take it," Durant said.
That sentiment was echoed by Curry, who added: "We feel like we can play much better, especially offensively, just finishing better around the rim.
"There were open opportunities that we had because we were moving the ball well and trying to force them into a tough decision on the defensive end.
"The best thing was just our defensive presence and effort for 48 minutes. They're going to make tough shots, so you've got to just keep pressing, sticking to the game plan but focus what's in front of you."
