Heat extend record streak with Bobcats win
The
Miami Heat won their opening five matches of the season for the first time in franchise history as they beat the
Charlotte Bobcats 129-90.
Chris Bosh scored 24 points for the Heat, whose 129 total is the highest of any team so far since the campaign started.
Dwayne Wade also enjoyed a memorable night as he passed 14,000 career points, making him the 25th active player to do so.
But while the Heat are hot, reigning champions
Dallas are definitely cold and struggling at 1-4.
They lost 99-82 to the
Minnesota Timberwolves - their first win in 19 attempts. Kevin Love scored 25 points and rebounded 17 times as part of a brilliant one-man show.
Twenty-three points from Antawn Jamison led the way for the
Cleveland Cavaliers as they secured a 98-82 win over the
New Jersey Nets, who have now lost their last four games.
Carlos Boozer left the United Centre with 17 points as 11 rebounds as the
Bulls trounced the
Memphis Grizzlies 104-64 in their first home game of the season.
Boozer stole the show for Chicago, against a Memphis side that looked out of its depth.
Denver scored the last 11 points of the match to see off the
LA Lakers 99-90, with Danilo Gallinari leading the way with 20 points, while
Washington remain winless after going down 94-86 to
Boston.
Rajon Rondo landed 18 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds for the Celtics over a Wizards side that are 0-4.
Ryan Anderson plundered 24 points as the
Orlando Magic came from 16 points down to beat the
Toronto Raptors 102-96.
Elsewhere, Tyreke Evans scored 27 points and Marcus Thornton 25 as the
Sacramento Kings eased past the
New Orleans Hornets 96-80. The Hornets were without DaMarcus Cousins, who demanded a trade prior to tip-off.
Blake Griffin had a double-double for the second game in a row (20-10) as the
Portland Trail Blazers were condemned to a first loss of the season - 93-88 by the
Los Angeles Clippers.
