Team Sky have announced the signing of Polish rider Lukasz Wisniowski from Etixx – Quick-Step.

The 24-year-old specialises in the one-day Classics and will officially move on January 1.

Wisniowski turned professional last year, with his best results so far being fifth in Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne this February and second overall at the Driedaagse van West Vlaanderen stage race in March.

Wisniowski said: "I'm really happy to be joining Team Sky. It will be nice to be a part of the team in the Belgian Classics, and maybe even in the Grand Tours.

"The team is really, really strong. There are so many good riders and I think I can learn a lot with the team. It will be a great experience for me to be on the same team as riders like Chris Froome and Michal Kwiatkowski.

Who is on the move and where next season

"I'm an all-rounder, but mainly I like the Belgian Classics. They are the kind of races that I really like and I can't wait to be a part of Team Sky for those races, and hope I can take a step forward to improve myself for the Classics. I think that's my future."

Wisniowski becomes Team Sky's third new signing for next season, following British pair Owain Doull and Tao Geoghegan Hart.
