Sir Bradley Wiggins might have finished fifth last on stage two of the Tour of Britain, but he still managed to put on a show for fans.

The five-time Olympic champion stopped and got off of his bike close to the top of the final climb of the day, The Struggle, and started running in scenes reminiscent of Chris Froome on Mont Ventoux at the Tour de France.

The Struggle is 4.5km long and has a maximum gradient of 20 per cent, making it the hardest climb of this year's race and one of the toughest in Britain.

Wiggins wrote: "Taking things very seriously at the top of the struggle, took my mind off being in a world of pain #onetoomanyginandtonics #wiggins #tob2016."
