Australia's Jack Bobridge has announced he will attempt to break the hour record in Melbourne on January 31.

The 25-year-old unveiled details of his attempt just hours after compatriot Rohan Dennis revealed he will attack the record on February 8.

Bobridge has track pedigree, having won three world titles, four Commonwealth titles and Olympic silver on the boards. He is also the world record-holder in the 4km individual pursuit.

The current hour record stands at 51.852km, which was set by Austria's Matthias Brandle in October.
