Gerben Thijssen in intensive care after crash at Ghent Six Day
Lotto Soudal say Thijssen is in a stable condition and are optimistic he will recover.

Cyclist Gerben Thijssen is recovering in intensive care following a crash on the opening night of the Ghent Six Day.
The Lotto Soudal rider, 21, is now in a stable condition after suffering three small brain haemorrhages and fracturing three ribs and a collarbone in Tuesday's incident.
Thijssen was attended to on track before being transported to hospital following the collision with Danish rider Oliver Wulff Frederiksen on the last lap of the supersprint.
A Lotto Soudal team spokesperson said on Twitter: "Fortunately there is some slight optimism. Less than 18 hours after his terrible crash, Gerben was able to have a small conversation with his family."
The rest of Tuesday's schedule was cancelled following the crash at the request of other riders.
