The five playing rules may not yet be implemented for the National Leagues, as the Central Council will review the changes in January.

Gaelic Players Association CEO Paul Flynn met with the GAA on Wednesday, making the case for the playing body who voted overwhelmingly against some of the rules which have been confirmed for a trial period during the pre-season competitions and the National Leagues.

The GAA remained firm when asked about the GPA's grievances on Tuesday, but have since back-tracked, stating that the rules will be reviewed following the pre-season competitions at the next Central Council meeting on January 19. The National Leagues will get underway the following weekend.
