Limerick name strong team for Wexford clash

Reigning All-Ireland champions Limerick have named a strong team for their league opener away to Wexford.

Eleven of the starters from the All-Ireland final victory over Galway feature, with Kyle Hayes, Mike Casey (both injured), Darragh O'Donovan and Graeme Mulcahy missing out.

The Treaty will have a full squad to work with throughout the springtime, unlike last year when the Na Piarsaigh contingent missed the league campaign due to their involvement in the All-Ireland Club Championship.

A number of the city club's stars will be eager to use the National League as a platform to nail down a starting berth, with Peter Casey and David Dempsey both set to start on Sunday.

Although they are riding a wave of momentum following their Liam MacCarthy triumph last summer, this is Limerick's first top-flight league game since 2010 after they were promoted from Division 1B last year. To that end, Kiely will be eager to see his team get off to the best possible start away to Davy Fitzgerald's Wexford.
