Powell ended the final race of the season at Snetterton behind Alex Craven, who won the overall title but, at 20 years old, insists she has plenty of time to fulfill her Formula One dream.
Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, David Coulthard and Ralf Schumacher are just some of the illustrious names that have earned their spurs in Formula 3 and Powell sees no reason why she cannot follow in their footsteps.
"If I can reach Forumula One I am sure I can score some points and do a very good job," she told Sportswomen.
"There are some drivers racing in F1 right now who I have beaten in the past in karting. So there's no reason why when I get to F1 I can't be up there and fighting."
Powell has overcome plenty of obstacles thus far in her career - and some of the problems she has encountered began at a very early age.
"When I first went into karting I remember sitting on the grid before the start," she said. "I think I was on pole and I could hear the guy's father behind me saying 'Don't get beaten by a girl. Imagine what all your friends would say.'
"I was about eight years old at the time. I was probably a bit nervous and I can't remember the result of that particular race, but that incident always sticks in my mind.
"Females need a role model. The males have got Lewis Hamilton they've got Vettel they've got Button to look up to. The females used to go 'Who can I aspire to be?' Now we have got Claire Williams, we've got Monisha Kaltenborn, we've got Susie Wolff. We can all aspire to be like them.
"You don't have to be a driver. We've got a female here that's an engineer. There are so many different groups and areas you can go into."
