WWE NXT: Tyson Kidd abandons injured Natalya to win Thursday evening's main event

Canadian pins Sami Zayn at end of spellbinding tag-team tussle

Wife or victory? Wife or victory? Wife or victory?

That was the dilemma running around Tyson Kidd’s mind in the dying embers of Thursday night’s episode of NXT – and the high-flying Canadian stunned WWE fans by picking the latter.

Kidd had been clocked by a potent right hand from Sami Zayn during the show’s main event, which pitted Kidd and Justin Gabriel against Zayn and Newcastle-born NXT Champion Adrian Neville.

Zayn’s meaty punch sent Kidd careering into his wife, Natalya, and the daughter of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart tumbling to the floor at Orlando’s Full Sail University.

But while Kidd initially showed concern for his stricken partner, he quickly changed tact and rolled-up Zayn for the victory, much to the chagrin of Natalya.

There was better news for another Diva, though, with Summer Rae defeating Bayley to become No. 1 Contender to the NXT Women’s Championship, a belt currently held by Rae’s former BFF Charlotte.

Bull Dempsey has his eyes on gold, too, with the powerful New Yorker signalling his intentions to rip the NXT Championship from Neville in the wake of his triumph over Angelo Dawkins.

Plus, CJ Parker apologised for his barracking of Xavier Woods – and then clobbered the PhD hopeful when he refused to accept Parker’s words – while Sin Cara proved too slick for Wesley Blake.
