WWE Raw results: Dean Ambrose to fight rival Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell

Lunatic Fringe earns match by beating John Cena

Hell in a Cell came early on Raw as Dean Ambrose beat John Cena in a Contract on a Pole Match to secure a showdown with Seth Rollins at the next pay-per-view.

Ambrose and Cena were scheduled to fight each other at the Hell in a Cell event on Sunday, October 26, with the winner then going on to wrestle Rollins within metal confines later in the show.

But after The Lunatic Fringe and The Cenation Leader proved what they could achieve as partners – they defeated The Usos and Gold and Stardust in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match – WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H opted to bring forward their singles bout.

Ambrose was the victor in that clash, though only after Authority’s cronies, Rollins, Randy Orton and Kane, had become involved in the high-stakes scrap in Atlanta.

Orton set off a chaotic ending to the match by insulting former United States Champion Ambrose – a decision which promptly earned The Viper a punch in the face – and attacking Cena.

And while Cena retaliated, flooring Kane with an Attitude Adjustment, Ambrose pinched the contract from the pole to rubberstamp a meeting with ex-Shield pal Rollins in just under two weeks’ time.

Cena, though, will still be locked inside the Hell in a Cell structure in Dallas, after Triple H agreed to give Orton the loser of the Chain Gang Soldier and Ambrose’s match, meaning two of the most decorated Superstars in WWE history will renew their rivalry.

Stunning

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon will be expecting big things of their golden boys Orton and Rollins at the next Sunday extravaganza and the duo’s wins on Monday evening suggest they have every right to.

Orton countered a Famouser attempt from Dolph Ziggler to administer a stunning, mid-air RKO on The Show-Off, while Rollins brought back memories of the legendary Shawn Michaels by Superkicking Jack Swagger, before pinning The Real American.

Bella Twins Nikki and Brie, meanwhile, have not battled in a one-on-one match since their bitter split at SummerSlam, but they will settle their issues at Hell in a Cell in a duel with an intriguing stipulation: whichever Bella is beaten will have to serve as the winner’s personal assistant.

Brie had the edge on Raw, however, pinning Nikki in a six-Diva tag-team match which featured Natalya and Naomi on Brie’s side and Cameron and Summer Rae on Nikki’s.

Elsewhere, Rusev recorded a disqualification victory over Big Show after he was attacked by Mark Henry, though the Bulgarian had no time to gloat as he was swiftly knocked out by The World’s Largest Athlete.

Plus, The Miz profited from the presence of his stunt double, Damien Mizdow, to defeat Sheamus via count-out, while AJ Lee polished off Paige and Alicia Fox before assaulting Layla, the tag-team partner who had left her high and dry earlier in the match.
