The Detroit Red Wings clinched their fourth Stanley Cup title in 11 years with a 3-2 road win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The victory in Game Six gave the Red Wings a 4-2 win in the best-of-seven series and ended the battling Penguins' bid to become the first team since the Toronto Maple Leafs 66 years ago to come back from a 3-1 series deficit and win the Cup.
Henrik Zetterberg scored a goal and set up another for the Red Wings, while there were also goals for defenseman Brian Rafalski and Valtteri Filppula.
Chris Osgood made 20 saves for Detroit, while their goals came courtesy of Hart Trophy finalist Evgeni Malkin and defenseman Sergei Gonchar.
"It felt great being the first guy on our team to touch the Cup," said Detroit's Swedish captain Nicklas Lidstrom, who became the first European to lead his team to a championship.
"Experience has a lot to do with it. I think that gives the whole team some calmness. We're not going to panic.
"Losing (Game Five) in triple overtime, I think we did a good job of putting that behind us. The main thing is we didn't get rattled."
Penguins coach Michel Therrien reporters: "The hockey God was not on our side tonight. It hurts. You could feel the pain from everyone. It's tough. We were that close."
