Master Manipulator and Cerebral Assassin claim gold in Seattle

Both the WWE and WWE world heavyweight championship belts changed hands on a brutal night of action at Sunday night's No Way Out. Triple H claimed WWE championship gold for a historic 13th time and, not to be outdone, Edge then showed why he is known as the Ultimate Opportunist by regaining gold as a surprise entrant in the world heavyweight championship Elimination Chamber match. It was the first time both titles were defended within the chain link entrapment in a single evening on a night that ended with the Master Manipulator living up to his billing by winning the world heavyweight championship for the fourth time.

Thrills

But first, just as he did at last year's event, the King of Kings outlasted five other superstars in the elimination chamber to take Edge's gold, with victory making The Game a 13-time world champion. The R-Rated Superstar was eliminated early in the piece by Jeff Hardy and Undertaker then brought Vladimir Kozlov's unbeaten run to an end. Tiple H took out Big Show, after Hardy left The World's Largest Athlete stunned from a Swanton Bomb, and The Phenom accounted for the high-flyer with a Tombstone. That left the Cerebral Assassin and The Deadman to battle it out and, after a brutal back-and-forth struggle, it was The Game who reigned supreme following a hard-hitting Pedigree.
Spills
Vanquished WWE champion Edge then assaulted Kofi Kingston to earn entry as a replacement into his second elimination chamber bout of the night, with John Cena's title at stake. Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho got things under way inside the unforgiving steel structure in Seattle and the Master of the 619 knocked out the might of Kane first. Y2J then got rid of Mike Knox and Jericho was dispatched as a Code Breaker, 619 and spear accounted for The Champ on his entry at number six. That left the Rated-R intruder free to face off against Mysterio and a spear ensured Edge would still be going to Wrestlemania XXV in six weeks with gold around his waist. Elsewhere on the night, an RKO secured victory for Randy Orton against Shane McMahon after a vicious no holds barred clash and a gutwrench powerbomb earned ECW champion Jack Swagger triumph over Finlay. And finally, Shawn Michaels freed himself from his contract with JBL bringing the sound of Sweet Chin Music to a delighted Seattle crowd.
