King of Kings on the warpath

A sledgehammer-wielding Triple H chased Randy Orton and his Legacy team-mates out of Raw in chilling fashion on Monday night.

Last Updated: 25/02/09 3:16pm

A sledgehammer-wielding Triple H chased Randy Orton and his Legacy team-mates out of Raw in chilling fashion on Monday night.

The WWE champion - intent on revenge following the RKO delivered by Orton on his wife Stephanie McMahon last week - was clearly in no mood for games in Nashville.

Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase both received bitter blows from The Cerebral Assassin, allowing the 2009 Royal Rumble winner to make a frightened getaway in his waiting car.

But the ferocity of the King of Kings' attack will have shocked the Legacy members and the hostility is only set to get more intense in the build-up to Wrestlemania XXV.

Another former champion also endured a disappointing night as John Cena's attempts to cash in his world heavyweight title rematch clause were given short shrift by stand-in general manager Vickie Guerrero.

The incapacitated McMahons' replacement instead set Cena up against the self-proclaimed Mexican Warrior Chavo Guerrero and though the STF wrapped up a submission victory for The Champ, his quest to reclaim gold continues.

Contenders

Sweet Chin Music accounted for Shawn Michaels' former employer JBL, meanwhile, as HBK secured a bout with Vladimir Kozlov for the right to challenge the Undertaker's historic 16-0 Wrestlemania winning streak in Houston.

And intercontinental champion CM Punk booked his spot in the money in the bank match in Texas with victory over world tag team champions The Miz and John Morrison in a triple threat match.

The Straightedge Champion used Morrison to smash the Miz out of the ring before delivering a Go To Sleep finish on the former for the victory.

Elsewhere, Chris Jericho kept up his reputation of damaging attacks on WWE Legends with another despicable assault - this time on future Hall of Famer Ricky The Dragon Steamboat.

Finally, women's champion Melina and Cryme Tyme joined forces to despatch Glamarella and Dolph Ziggler, with Shad pinning Santino Marella for the win.
