Triple H kept hold of the WWE Championship with victory over Randy Orton at the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania in Houston.
King of Kings reigns supreme in Houston
Triple H showed just why he is one of the most feared and respected WWE superstars of all time as he retained his WWE Championship with victory over Randy Orton at WrestleMania.
After months of feuding and verbal torment between the pair, The Game outplayed the Legend Killer to keep the gold wrapped firmly around his waist in Houston.
On a night of celebration for the 25th anniversary of The Grandest Stage of Them All, Triple H was in an unforgiving mood - ruining Orton's evening with a brutal sledgehammer/Pedigree combination to claim the pin.
The match had started well enough for Orton, both he and The Game delivering their patented 'finishing' moves in the opening stages without claiming the win.
As the fight wore on Triple H's power and athleticism was clearly proving too much for Orton, who quickly looked for alternative means to claim the gold.
After taking out the referee, Orton slid out of the ring to retrieve a sledgehammer in an attempt to deliver a killer blow.
However, as he returned to the squared circle there lying in wait was The Game and, after snatching the sledgehammer and delivering a vicious punt of his own, victory was in sight.
With Orton dazed and in prime position for a Pedigree, Triple H nailed it right on cue, and with the ref back up on his feet, the victory was sealed.
