WWE Raw: Paul Heyman will fight CM Punk at Hell in a Cell event

Paul Heyman and The Shield were left smarting when Raw rolled off the air. Click here to find out why...

Punk and Heyman: friends turned enemies

Heyman, on a rip-roaring evening in St Louis, learned he would be placed inside Hell in a Cell with CM Punk at the next pay-per-view, while Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns lost the WWE Tag Team Titles following interference from a giant.

Heyman's current charge, Ryback, and his former ally, Punk, were already set to lock horns in Miami on October 27, but a Beat the Clock Challenge was announced on Raw, with the winner selecting the stipulation for their bout.

Ryback knocked off R-Truth with the clock on 5:44, but Punk prevailed, pinning Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel with seconds to spare - and then deciding he would face BOTH Ryback and Heyman in a handicap match at Hell in a Cell.

Elsewhere, Triple H - who had earlier vowed to make any critics of his management style "grovel at his feet" - sanctioned a no disqualification fight for the WWE Tag Team Championships between Rollins and Reigns and Cody Rhodes and Goldust.

The Shield stars used that to their advantage early on, utilising the help of ringside stablemate Dean Ambrose, but the brawl turned when Big Show emerged to pulverise the black-clad rebels.

The World's Largest Athlete, recently fired for the destruction he caused in the Battleground main event, knocked out all three members of The Shield, allowing Rhodes to pin Reigns and hold the gold aloft with his face-painted brother.

Clash

Rhodes and Goldust's father, Dusty Rhodes, is a WWE Hall of Famer and another, Shawn Michaels, kicked off Raw to address the WWE Title duel at Hell in a Cell, in which he will act as guest referee.

The Heartbreak Kid trained Daniel Bryan and hates Randy Orton but insisted he would call the clash straight down the middle and ensure a rightful champion was crowned at the American Airlines Center.

Michaels was interrupted by Orton but when The Viper attempted to level the Showstopper with an RKO, the veteran countered and tried to administer Sweet Chin Music to the seven-time WWE Champion.

Orton slithered away but after being attacked by The Miz defeated the Awesome One in singles competition when his opponent was distracted by the presence of The Wyatt Family - Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan - on the entrance ramp.

The Apex Predator was not done for the evening, however, proceeding to intimidate Brie Bella - who had previously been assaulted by Tamina Snuka and AJ Lee - in order to garner the attention of archenemy Bryan.

Orton's ploy worked, with the submission specialist abandoning his clash with World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio to rush to his fiancée's aid - and receiving a lashing from the Viper as a result.

Plus, Fandango vanquished Santino courtesy of a roll-up pin; Los Matadores overcame 3MB once more; and The Real Americans bested Tons of Funk, with Antonio Cesaro showcasing his strength post-match by spinning Tensai.

Watch WWE Hell in a Cell, midnight, Sunday, October 27 (Mon) on Sky Sports Box Office and Sky Sports HD Box Office.
