WWE Smackdown: Big Show, The Usos and Christian triumph on Friday night

A Big Show power play helped see off Batista and Kane on WWE Smackdown on Friday night.

Last Updated: 10/03/14 11:03am

The World's Largest Athlete had teamed up with Daniel Bryan for the main event and, after firing The Animal into the steel ring post, Big Show landed a KO Punch on the Director of Operations to allow The Beard to wrap-up victory.

The Detroit show had kicked off in controversial fashion when Christian profited from an Alberto Del Rio intervention to pin Dolph Ziggler.

The Essence of Excellence had been distracted by Need for Speed star Aaron Paul on Monday night on Raw, allowing The Show Off to secure victory. And Del Rio, working as a ringside commentator, stood atop the announce table to return the favour on Smackdown.

Christian capitalised and hit The Killswitch to down Ziggler.

The Usos, who won the WWE Tag Team Titles on Monday on Raw and followed that triumph with a frantic win over Los Matadores on WWE Main Event, then continued their streak on Smackdown against RybAxel, with Jey hitting the splash off the top rope to pick up the three-count on Ryback.

Diva action followed and Natalya avoided AJ Lee's Black Widow attempt to make the Divas Champion tap out with the family Sharpshooter before it was announced Paul Bearer will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Later in the evening The Shield held a summit after Seth Rollins walked out on his fellow Hounds of Justice on Raw and appeared to settle their differences before Sheamus saw off Del Rio in the ring.

However, the real drama was saved for the finale as the Big Show showed his might once again.
