Each participant in the NXT Championship Fatal Four-Way match at Takeover 2 will head into the bout on the back of a victory.

Adrian Neville will defend his title on September 11 against Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze and Sami Zayn but it is hard to determine a favourite at this stage, with all four prevailing on Thursday evening.

Neville overcame eco-warrior CJ Parker, while Kidd and Breeze recorded wins against Adam Rose and Tye Dillinger respectively, and Sami Zayn made Marcus Louis tap out to the Koji Clutch.

Whilst Neville defends his gold against three grapplers next week, NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte will put her garland on the line against just the one – but that doesn’t mean it will be easy.

Bayley has been gaining a head of steam in recent weeks and showcased how dangerous a proposition she will be for the champion when she Bayley-to-belly suplexed Charlotte at Full Sail University after Ric Flair’s daughter had vanquished Alexa Bliss.

Elsewhere on Thursday night, The Ascension learned who their Takeover 2 opponents will be.

Sin Cara and Kalisto beat The Vaudevillains – Aiden English and Simon Gotch – to earn a shot at Viktor and Konnor’s belts and the new rivals enjoyed a star-down afterwards as an appetiser for next week.
