WWE NXT results: Kevin Owens cracks Adrian Neville with powerbomb onto ring apron

Canadian strikes after main event ends in double count-out

Kevin Owens followed up his beat-down of Sami Zayn at Takeover: R Evolution by bludgeoning Adrian Neville on the latest episode of NXT.

The newcomer stunned fans last Thursday when he powerbombed best friend Zayn onto the ring apron, moments after his fellow Canadian had won the NXT Championship from Neville.

Owens repeated the dose this week, hitting Neville with the exact same manoeuvre that he delivered to Zayn when his match with the Newcastle fighter had ended in a double count-out.

Neville had called Owens out at the start of NXT, asking the former Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla competitor why he saw fit to marmalise Zayn at Takeover: R Evolution.

Owens was cagey in his response but did tell the dethroned NXT Champion that he would be willing to wrestle him later in the show, and the match was subsequently made.

Stretcher

Neville managed to knock his opponent out of the squared circle but was then sent hurtling into the steel ring post with both grapplers failing to return to the ring before the referee counted to 10.

However, Owens got to his feet first, blasted Neville with a powerbomb and watched on as NXT medics attached the Brit to a stretcher, just as they had done to Zayn seven days previously.

Elsewhere, The Ascension defeated Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady before challenging their Takeover: R Evolution conquerors, Hideo Itami and Finn Balor, to a rematch.

Plus, Becky Lynch submitted Bayley with the Four-Leg Clover, and Bull Dempsey shoved Baron Corbin after he and the onetime gridiron player had each recorded quick-fire wins over local wrestlers.
