Lesnar picked up a broken rib when Seth Rollins unleashed a wicked flying elbow from the turnbuckle, leaving him seemingly out of commission in a match that also included John Cena.

But The Anomaly eventually battled to his feet, evaded a Curb Stomp and then clocked Rollins with an F5 to cling onto his gold and secure a WrestleMania showdown with Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns.

Lesnar was the dominating force from the start of Sunday evening’s tussle, dishing out myriad German suplexes to Cena and Rollins, and even attacking Rollins’ hired help J&J Security.

However, Cena stemmed the tide when he was able to batter the champion with three successive Attitude Adjustments as well as the steel steps and when Rollins made that athletic leap onto the prone Lesnar, a two-man scrap ensued.

Thrilling

Cena was not too wounded when J&J Security got involved again and helped Rollins subject him to a triple powerbomb and at one point looked favourite to poach the 16th world championship of his career.

But Lesnar made a remarkable recovery and even coped with two further blows to the skull from Rollins’ Money in the Bank briefcase before wrapping up a thrilling triumph.

WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos also kept hold of their belts by defeating former titlists The Miz and Damien Mizdow, while The Ascension downed the veteran duo of Road Dogg and Billy Gunn aka The New Age Outlaws.

The Bella Twins emerged victorious, too, besting fellow Total Divas Paige and Natalya, plus on the Royal Rumble pre-show, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro continued their exciting form by conquering The New Day’s Big E and Kofi Kingston.
