Colin Turkington took another step towards the British Touring Car Championship title by recording two victories at Croft on Sunday.

The BMW driver made it four wins in the last five races, pulling away from the field after starting on pole on both occasions to seal a convincing double.

Turkington won the opening race by more than seven seconds, beating Honda's Gordon Shedden and MG's Jason Plato.

Shedden was Turkington's closest challenger in the second race as well with triple champion Matt Neal completing the podium by taking third place in his Honda.

"Gordon was definitely faster that time - it took the first third of the race to shake him off," Turkington told the BTCC website after his second victory.

"The pressure was on all the way through - but as I've said before the hard work by the team is really paying off.

"As the race goes on you're obviously losing grip, and I was pressing on to make sure the gap was comfortable."
